Description

(031107)Original Vietnam Era Boonie or Cowboy Hat USAF named and patched. This hat has no label but was made in Thailand during Vietnam War Era. It Is named to a R Molina and from the other patches I believe he was in the USAF. On one side is patch Spain over Texas and other side Iran over Utapoa and they are Thai made patches. Has 2 round ventilation holes each side and also one side has snap to hold brim up. The sweatband is a brown plastic material. It still has original hat cord. The camo pattern is a variation of the ERDL pattern. It looks there was once one more patch on front side but was removed long ago. This airman had been a lot of interesting places maybe somebody could research him. You don't see much US Air Force in Iran stuff. There is also a red 59 printed on brim that was on the material to make this hat. These kind of hats were made in local tailor shops near the bases.
