    Description

    This is a "Classic" Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet 7X hand lens, also known as a "loupe" or, simply, magnifier.  The Bausch & Lomb Hastings Triplet is one of the finest magnifiers ever made.  This is an original Bausch & Lomb hand lens, 100% made in the U.S.A., in Rochester, NY.  What is most unusual about this lens is its condition:  near mint.  It shows almost no signs of prior use.
    The silver base has a few very tiny superficial rub marks from sitting on a shelf. This was my late grandfathers and is larger in size as shown in pictures.
    7X Hastings Triplet lens configuration.  The "cadillac" of magnifiers. Three individual lenses are bonded together to form a lens configuration nearly free of distortion and free of chromatic aberration.  The end result is a sharp, clear image across the entire field of view.
    Compact swing-in/swing-out design.  The lens swings in under the chromed brass housing for protection from dust, debris, and scratches.
    A lanyard can easily be attached to the lens housing for wearing around the neck.
    Beautiful engraved prism design, trademark of Bausch & Lomb, on one face of the lens, indicating that this is a classic Bausch & Lomb original, definitely
