    Description

This PAIR of Barlow 10 HD Bronze Sailboat Winches are used, remaining in great mechanical condition.  They are very Heavy-Duty Bronze models, factory plated, with top and bottom pawls for highest strength.  They show typical signs of marine use, with the internals remaining in REMARKABLE CONDITION, - There are numerous photos, inside and out, to show their details and condition.
Solid Bronze Drums, Columns and Bases.  Caged Stainless roller bearings for long life. Very easy assembly and disassembly.  They  operate precisely-
Satisfying pieces of workmanship and engineering.  They are extremely heavy and heavily made and would be handsome and reliable equipment on any sailboat.  Please be aware that these Barient 10's are NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the present Tinkertoy Lewmar, Harken or other winches now designated as "Number 10's"-  These are serious pieces of Cruising/Racing Equipment, just a bit smaller than the Barient or Barlow Number 16's.
Stand about 3 5/8"  tall and measure about 4" inches across the base. Marked "Barient 10...U.S.A."  Accept all standard modern handles.  Ratchet crisply.   A good choice for medium cruising boats, as a primary, cabintop or mast winches.    Construction is EXTREMELY HEAVY AND MASSIVE- They will last for MANY DECADES of use.
Winches show some typical signs of use, with some winch handle scratches and a bit of line wear- Overall they look quite good.  Internally they are excellent.
Despite the very heavy weight, the stated USPS Priority Mail in the auction is correct anywhere in the U.S.
Quite expensive a couple decades ago (they would cost many hundreds of dollars for a comprable new bronze winches).  Some of the most MASSIVE,  STOUTEST winches in their size range, offered with an extremely ................Low Starting Bid.
